The Lay Cistercian Review logo takes its form from the plain crosses on the walls of the Abbey of Gethsemani church. Unadorned, they ask for no attention, turning the eye instead toward Christ. The logo keeps that same restraint: simple black crosses on white, nothing added, what remains shaped by silence, by prayer, and by attentiveness to God.
The black crosses speak of humility and renunciation, while the white recalls the plain Cistercian habit and the light of the Resurrection.
Together they hold the heart of the Lay Cistercian way: prayer, simplicity, stability, and conversion of heart. Like the crosses at Gethsemani, the logo points beyond itself, a quiet reminder that the Lay Cistercian vocation is to seek God in the ordinary hours of daily life.
